According to the EU, the funding is part of a 90-billion-euro loan package for Ukraine. Earlier, the EU approved procurement plans worth 16 billion euros for Ukraine, of which 8.35 billion euros has already been disbursed.
EC President Ursula von der Leyen said Europe will stand with Ukraine and continue supporting it for as long as necessary. Most of Ukraine’s procurement needs will be supplied by EU defense companies.
At a Coalition of the Willing meeting in Kyiv on Monday, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said London has accepted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal to share Storm Shadow missile technology. Earlier, France agreed to help Ukraine develop the ability to assemble SCALP missiles.
