The trip from September 20 to 25 helped strengthen relations with key partners and opened up new avenues for cooperation, leveraging external resources and creating further room for Vietnam's development in the new era, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung told reporters about the outcomes of the visit.
At the United Nations, Vietnam reaffirmed its proactive, positive, and responsible foreign policy, upholding multilateralism and the central role of the UN in addressing global challenges. Vietnam also reiterated its readiness to continue contributing to UN activities while leveraging international knowledge, experience, and resources to serve national development.
In the United States, meetings with the administration, Congress, academia, the business community, and the Vietnamese diaspora helped promote cooperation across various sectors—particularly trade, investment, science and technology, education, energy, and transportation.
Vietnam and Canada agreed to establish a Strategic Partnership, accompanied by an action plan featuring specific initiatives to open up new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
