In the coming months, priority will be given to collecting and verifying information from the Vietnam War Missing in Action Initiative (VWAI), the Vietnam Center and Sam Johnson Vietnam Archive at Texas Tech University, and foreign veterans. The information relates to 12 battle sites near Ho Chi Minh City and will be used to support field surveys and develop new search and recovery plans.

Authorities also aim to complete DNA sampling from unidentified graves at the city's martyrs' cemeteries by the end of September. Ho Chi Minh City police will continue updating records and collecting DNA samples from relatives of missing fallen soldiers to assist with future identification efforts.

Search teams recovered the remains of 154 fallen soldiers at Le Thi Rieng Park between June 23 and July 30. As of July 29, DNA sampling had been completed at 10 of Ho Chi Minh City's 18 martyrs' cemeteries.
