In a statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the visit is expected to inject new momentum into the strong bilateral relationship and open up fresh avenues for cooperation. The Ministry said India and Vietnam share historical and civilizational ties that have been steadily strengthened over the years, underpinned by strong political trust and converging strategic interests.

Indian media outlets called Vietnam one of India’s most important partners in Southeast Asia, highlighting cooperation in defense, security, trade, investment, digital transformation, high tech, supply chain connectivity, and maritime activity.

They stressed that the visit will expand cooperation into new areas, reinforcing Vietnam’s role as a key partner for India in the Indo-Pacific region.
