Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan were repeatedly hit by missile and drone attacks by Iran on Tuesday, while the US continued airstrikes on military targets in Iran.
Kuwait said Iranian missiles struck several power plants and desalination facilities on Monday, prompting authorities to urge residents to conserve electricity as soaring temperatures drive up power demand. In Bahrain, missile and drone attacks continued throughout the day. Jordan’s military said it intercepted and destroyed 5 drones and 3 missiles.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported that an oil tanker was attacked off the coast of Oman, forcing its crew to abandon the vessel. Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it is continuing strikes against Iranian military command centers, missile launchers, UAVs, naval capabilities, and air defense systems.
Diplomatic efforts are continuing to seek a return to dialogue between Washington and Tehran. Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni traveled to Pakistan for talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of General Staff Asim Munir to discuss reconciliation initiatives. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington remains open to negotiations if Iran presents substantive proposals.
