The Ministry of National Defense continues to maintain 24 search and recovery teams, including five operating in Vietnam, eight in Laos, and eleven in Cambodia. Additional temporary teams are also being considered, while funding, equipment, and transportation are being ensured for search operations and DNA sampling.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Security is finalizing a nationwide campaign to collect DNA samples from relatives of unidentified martyrs. Scheduled to run from June 20, 2026, to July 20, 2027, the campaign is expected to collect around 250,000 DNA samples.
