Held on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the event aimed to raise public awareness, mobilize resources to support those affected by Agent Orange/dioxin, and honor the resilience of victims and their families.
More than half a century after the war, the toxic legacy of Agent Orange continues to affect the environment and generations of Vietnamese people. Ho Chi Minh City is home to around 25,000 Agent Orange victims of multiple generations, posing significant challenges for long-term care and support.
Speaking at the event, Major General, Associate Professor and People's Physician Nguyen Hong Son, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, said the organization would continue raising public awareness in Vietnam and internationally about the lasting consequences of the chemical.
On the occasion, organizers presented savings books to 10 disadvantaged families with Agent Orange victims, along with gifts for many other affected individuals.
