People-to-people connection provides the foundation for building mutual trust and promoting shared progress, said Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City, Pang Te Cheng, at a gathering held on Wednesday by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations to mark the 61st National Day of the Republic of Singapore (August 9).
Mr. Pang said the annual celebration is a vivid testament to the close ties, strategic trust and sustainable partnership between Singapore and Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Chairman of the City’s Vietnam-Singapore Friendship Association, Lam Dung Tien, said that people-to-people diplomacy is becoming increasingly significant, creating sustainable and long-lasting values for relations between the two nations. The Association hopes to establish a “Vietnam-Singapore Cultural and Friendship Space”, contributing to deepening bilateral friendship and bringing the two peoples closer together.
