The PM underlined the role of monetary system in achieving Vietnam's socio-economic development goals. He urged the State Bank and the credit institutions to look beyond achievements and candidly assess potential macroeconomic risks. The State Bank's task, he said, is to curb inflation and support economic growth, which requires flexible, proactive, proportionate, and timely management.
"We need to develop the capital and bond market so that bank credit can return to its core function, which is providing short-term funding and working capital to the economy. Medium- and long-term investment capital should go to other institutions and markets. Institutional issues have been raised about the banking sector's advisory role and responsibility to contribute to the healthy development of capital mobilization, and especially the development of the bond market," PM Hung said.
The Prime Minister urged banks and credit institutions to find practical solutions to bottlenecks, ensure an adequate supply of capital to the economy, maintain a healthy financial system, and achieve socio-economic development goals for 2026.
