According to Foreign Minister Trung, Vietnam’s participation in the 18th BRICS Summit—and particularly Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s address—was applauded by member states and the host nation.

The Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam’s support for closer coordination between BRICS and regional, inter-regional, and global multilateral mechanisms, contributing to peace, stability, and cooperation, while creating opportunities for equitable and sustainable development for all nations. Furthermore, he called for BRICS to play a greater role in fostering dialogue and cooperation, building and consolidating trust, helping to address global challenges, and promoting reforms to the multilateral system so that it better serves the interests of developing nations.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of BRICS' founding, Foreign Minister Trung noted, saying Vietnam’s participation not only enhanced the country's engagement and contributions to the bloc as a partner nation but also helped strengthen relations with other BRICS members and partners. Through cooperative engagement, Vietnam has not only strengthened mutual understanding and political trust but also tapped into new, practical cooperation potentials to contribute to national development.

To operationalize the outcomes of the visit, Vietnam will actively coordinate with member states and partners to continue participating in and contributing to cooperation pillars that align with the capabilities, interests, and needs of Vietnam and other developing nations, FM Trung said.

Regarding bilateral cooperation—particularly with India—both sides will continue to implement specific programs and plans across various levels, sectors, and localities to translate commitments and agreements into concrete projects and results that deliver tangible economic benefits.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s attendance also drew significant attention from Indian political circles and the public. Commentary focused on the bilateral significance of the meeting and on Vietnam's participation within the broader context of BRICS' expansion and its growing global role.

Professor Faisal Ahmed of the Fore School at the University of Delhi assessed Vietnam's contribution to BRICS. “The type of strategic autonomy and independent foreign policy that Vietnam has been following helps its strong position in the Global South. The second is the global production network. The huge potential Vietnam has in the expansion of the global production networks and establishing those networks in ASEAN countries is very important,” Faisal Ahmed said.
