"We're going to give a license to you to make Patriots," Trump said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. He added that both Moscow and Kyiv want to end their conflict but admitted that significant obstacles to negotiations remain.
Zelenskiy said his meeting with Trump discussed "some very important details". He told Trump that he trusts that the US President "will do everything" to end the conflict, now entering its fifth year.
Zelenskiy has repeatedly pleaded for the US-made interceptors, the only weapon in Ukraine's arsenal that can shoot down ballistic projectiles, which Ukraine desperately needs.
