At a meeting with US Ambassador to Vietnam Jennifer Wicks McNamara on Tuesday, Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee Le Hong Vinh said Quang Tri province is working to build a transparent, business-friendly investment environment to attract resources including those from US partners.

The province is implementing an action program for 2026-2035 to address unexploded ordnance left from the war. Mr. Vinh called for US support for bomb and mine surveys and clearance, mine-risk education, assistance for war victims, and capacity building for specialized agencies.

Quang Tri also wants to expand cooperation with US agencies, organizations, and businesses in digital transformation, clean energy, climate change adaptation, high-tech agriculture, and other areas, Vinh said.

The US Ambassador said the US will help Quang Tri and other Vietnamese localities address the legacy of war, particularly through mine clearance efforts.
