Quang Ninh's school network is stronger than in the previous academic year, comprising 350 preschools and K-12 schools, and 380 independent preschools. The total number of students is expected to exceed 370,000.
Following facility upgrades, Quang Ninh now has 11,700 classrooms. It is currently building 15 new schools and renovating and repairing 64 existing schools. In border areas, efforts are concentrated on completing 6 schools.
Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training, said: "To support instruction in subjects related to English proficiency, AI, STEM, and other skills, our 2026 plan includes the provision of 116 specialized classrooms. This will ensure that students at all grade levels have access to the necessary resources as we roll out the initiative at schools throughout the province."
Meanwhile, in Da Nang, efforts are being accelerated to complete 6 combined primary and secondary boarding schools in the border communes, so they will be operational for the new school year. Many classroom blocks and boarding facilities are scheduled for completion and handover by August 25 or September 5. Six schools have registered 4,623 out of 4,661 students for the new school year.
Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang city Party Committee, said: “Between now and the start of the school year, it's important to focus on completing classrooms and boarding quarters for teachers and students, to ensure they’re ready for the new academic year. Construction and finishing work on the remaining components will proceed concurrently.”
