During the two-day visit at the invitation of General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam and his spouse, the King and Queen laid wreaths and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs.
They attended a prayer ceremony for peace and well-being at Quan Su Pagoda and visited the Thai Language and Culture Center and Hanoi University.
On Tuesday, General Secretary and President To Lam presided over the official welcoming ceremony and held talks with the King. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man also met with the King.
Leaders of both nations emphasized the historic significance of the visit—marking the first time a Thai King has visited Vietnam in 50 years—and agreed to continue consolidating political trust, enhancing cooperation, and effectively implementing the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The visit has helped propel Vietnam-Thailand relations into a new, more profound stage of development, contributing to peace, cooperation, and development in the region.
