During a visit to Thuan Thanh Invalids Nursing Centre in Bac Ninh province ahead of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), the Vietnamese top leader expressed Vietnam’s profound gratitude to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and all those who rendered great service to the nation.
Mr. Lam highlighted the ongoing 500-day campaign to intensify the search, recovery and identification of martyrs' remains, ensuring that those who sacrificed for the nation are honored and never forgotten.
"The strength of a country is measured not only by its economy, national defense, and international standing, but also by how it honors the past, cares for those who have contributed, and remains faithful to those who have sacrificed. The more developed the country becomes, the better we must care for national contributors and their families. This is a political responsibility, a national moral obligation, and a measure of the regime's humanity," said Mr. Lam.
The Party leader called on the Ministry of Home Affairs and localities to continue reviewing and fully and promptly implementing policies supporting those who have rendered meritorious service and their families.
Established on April 3, 1965, the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Rehabilitation Center has provided treatment and rehabilitation for thousands of war invalids and sick soldiers over the past six decades. The center is currently caring for 82 severely wounded and sick soldiers from 13 provinces and cities in Vietnam.
