Each tank can hold up to 1,000 liters and is being provided to households without reliable access to clean water for daily use, helping ease pressure on water supplies during the dry season.
“Once El Nino hits, we expect water shortages, especially in the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta. Local residents need access to clean water storage and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has urged early action," said Pham Quoc Hung, a representative from the Department of Hydraulic Works Management and Construction (DWMC).
The program will also provide additional tanks to schools in the area.
