At a meeting in Hanoi on Monday with John Goyer, Vice President of the US Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States through substantive and effective cooperation, with economic and trade ties developing in a stable, balanced and sustainable manner.

Hang called on the US Chamber of Commerce to strengthen its role in connecting businesses and encouraging greater US investment and cooperation in Vietnam.

Looking ahead to Vietnam’s hosting of APEC in 2027, she encouraged strong participation by US businesses in the year’s activities, particularly the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the APEC CEO Summit and sectoral ministerial meetings.

Goyer said the US Chamber of Commerce stood ready to work with Vietnam, drawing on its business network and international expertise to contribute to the success of APEC 2027.

He also expressed confidence that the two countries would soon conclude negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement, helping foster balanced, sustainable and mutually beneficial economic relations.
