The top leader spoke highly of the Vietnam-Canada partnership and emphasized the role of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in fostering economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two nations.

He noted that the two sides could aim for a bilateral trade volume of 14–15 billion USD by 2030. However, to make Canadian investment in Vietnam match its full potential—particularly in manufacturing and production chains—Vietnam seeks to link Canadian capital, technology, and management expertise with projects in infrastructure, energy, logistics, digital transformation, innovation, and the green transition.

Mr. Lam called on the two countries to leverage the CPTPP to expand cooperation on capital, technology, supply chains, and workforce training, while also boosting investment in high-tech sectors, research and development, and areas that enhance productivity. Vietnam is committed to further improving its investment climate, safeguarding the legitimate rights of investors, and promptly resolving any obstacles.

On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam witnessed the exchange of cooperation agreements between businesses from both countries in aviation training and simulation technology, digital transformation, AI, and data.
