At a regular press briefing on Thursday, Hang answered reporters’ questions regarding the outcomes of the Vietnamese top leader’s recent visit to China, saying it was the first overseas trip by General Secretary and President To Lam following the consolidation of key leadership positions.
Both sides agreed that the visit was the most important diplomatic activity between the two countries thus far in 2026.
Ms. Hang said during the visit, 32 cooperation documents were signed between ministries, sectors, and localities of Vietnam and China, creating a foundation to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields.
The two leaders also announced the Vietnam–China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026–2027 to promote tourism cooperation and travel between the two countries.
