In an interview with the press, Minister Trung said both sides viewed the visit as the most important diplomatic engagement in bilateral ties in 2026, with the two countries’ top leaders reaching key common understandings on the future direction of relations.

The two sides agreed to step up high-level exchanges and contacts, while making full use of existing cooperation mechanisms across Party, State and other channels. They also agreed to strengthen economic connectivity, promote trade and investment, and coordinate closely on research and the early launch of railway projects.

During the visit, Vietnam and China signed 32 cooperation documents across various fields, including diplomacy, railways, and science and technology.

Minister Trung emphasized that the visit not only reaffirmed the long-standing traditional relationship between the two Parties, States and peoples, but also demonstrated the strong determination and strategic vision of both sides’ leaders in advancing strategic connectivity in a new phase of development.
