Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday with a delegation from the French National Assembly’s Committee on National Defense and Armed Forces, led by Chairman Jean-Michel Jacques, Ms Hang urged the French National Assembly to expedite ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and support the European Commission’s early removal of the “yellow card” imposed on Vietnamese seafood exports over illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
She also expressed hope that French lawmakers would soon finalize plans to host the 13th Vietnam–France Decentralized Cooperation Conference in France.
Jean-Michel Jacques called for broader cooperation across a range of fields, from trade, agriculture, and culture to strategic sectors.
He also affirmed French lawmakers’ support for the early ratification of EVIPA and the lifting of the EC’s IUU yellow card on Vietnam.
