They aim to raise bilateral trade turnover to 100 billion USD by 2026 and 150 billion USD by 2030 and to prioritize non-refundable Official Development Assistance (ODA) and concessional ODA for projects in Vietnam.
Both agreed to foster science and technology cooperation as a driving force for the development of bilateral relations and to create favorable conditions for businesses from both countries to make stable, long-term investments in each other's markets.
The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in human resource training, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as to continue improving policies to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea and the Korean community in Vietnam—including roughly 100,000 multicultural Vietnamese-Korean families.
Both sides emphasized the vital role of parliamentary diplomacy in overseeing and promoting the implementation of commitments and agreements. Consequently, they agreed to strengthen the sharing of experiences in law-making and institutional building; actively promote exchanges and dialogue between parliamentary committees via in-person and virtual formats; and leverage the role of legislative bodies in coordinating the oversight of the implementation of international treaties and government cooperation agreements.
They stressed the need to refine policies and legal frameworks to create a favorable legal environment for businesses and citizens of both countries; and continue to coordinate and support each other at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums.
Regarding regional and global issues of mutual concern, National Assembly president Man urged the Republic of Korea to actively share experiences and support Vietnam in successfully hosting the 2027 APEC Summit, as well as to boost coordination at the United Nations and effectively implement ASEAN-Republic of Korea and Mekong-Republic of Korea cooperation mechanisms.
