The festival has been organised annually in Darwin by the Australian Vietnamese Family Association (AVFA) since 2022. From a modest event that attracted around 800 people in its first year, this year’s festival drew approximately 5,000 participants.
Vietnamese Consul General in Perth Pham Hai Anh said the festival aims to connect overseas Vietnamese with their homeland and bring Vietnam’s cultural identity closer to Australians, contributing to friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
