Briefing the expat community on domestic socio-economic development results and the goal of achieving double-digit growth, the top leader highlighted the Politburo’s Resolution No. 23 on overseas Vietnamese affairs. He noted the resolution's progressive shift in mindset, adding that overseas Vietnamese are an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, a strategic resource contributing to national strength, and a bridge connecting Vietnam with the world.
Mr. Lam applauded the community's attachment to the homeland and their contributions—particularly those of associations and intellectual networks—in fostering community cohesion and promoting Vietnam's image.
The General Secretary and President expressed his hope that the community would continue to unite, build a strong community, preserve their cultural identity and the Vietnamese language, support one another’s development, and contribute to the homeland. He also encouraged them to serve as a bridge fostering friendship and cooperation between Vietnam, New Zealand, and the South Pacific island nations.
