Deeply moved by the conferment, General Secretary and President Lam dedicated the honor to the people of Vietnam, to the generations of Vietnamese and Danes who laid the foundations for and nurtured the friendship between the two nations over the past 55 years, and to those in both countries today who are continuing this journey, ushering in a new chapter in bilateral relations.
He emphasized that this honor serves as a lasting reminder of the cherished sentiments and friendship that the Danish Royal Family and the people of Denmark hold for Vietnam, as well as a testament to the responsibility to uphold and build upon the legacy established by previous generations from both nations.
The presentation of the Order of the Elephant, which coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark reflects the high regard in which the Danish Royal Family holds both General Secretary and President To Lam personally and the relationship with Vietnam as a whole.
