The event sought to further promote their role in encouraging local people to implement the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, while raising vigilance against and countering the “peaceful evolution” schemes and sabotage attempts of hostile forces.

The gathering also aimed to strengthen the implementation of ethnic and religious affairs and the military’s mass mobilization work in the new context.

Addressing the event, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, described the participants as “pillars of solidarity” and a vital bridge between the Party and the people.

He said they play an important role in consolidating the great national unity bloc and building a strong “people’s hearts posture” at the grassroots level.

Mr. Nghia described the companionship as an important factor in consolidating the social foundation, building defense and security potential, and strengthening the all-people national defense posture to help safeguard the Fatherland from early and from afar.

“I believe that, with your prestige, responsibility, and dedication, you will continue to promote your core role and work closely with Party committees, local authorities, and armed forces to build sustainably developing localities rich in cultural identity, where people’s lives continue to improve,” Mr. Nghia added.
