To gain a foothold in the market, the Vietnam Agricultural and Food Product Import/ Export Joint Stock Company set up a raw materials processing area to assure clear origin of the products. The company established plantations and cooperatives to grow and provide vegetables. Do Thi Cuc of Vinh Phuc province works on a farm growing clean vegetables: “I used to grow vegetables on my farm and had a lot of difficulty selling my produce. My regular customers were neighbors. My income was unstable. Since I joined the company’s model, my life has been much better and my income more stable”.
Hang worked with a vocational training center run by the Hanoi Women’s Union to help kitchen workers at companies and schools improve the quality of meals. Her company cooperated with the Vinh Anh Food Company to build a facility in Hanoi’s Thuong Tin district to produce and deliver vegetable dumplings and cakes to supermarkets, schools, and food shops in Hanoi and its outskirts. Hang’s Company has set up links between growers, processors, and distributors. She always demands that her suppliers guarantee safe products at reasonable prices: “We will continue this model and plan to expand it to canteens at industrial parks. We hope to provide safe, clean food at reasonable prices to more consumers. The model of clean food not only helps farmers escape poverty but also provides safe food to consumers”.
