(VOVWORLD) - The people of K’Long hamlet in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong have seen many changes in recent years. They have been mobilized to rebuild their hamlet, apply scientific advances in agricultural production, and expand the local economy, led by patriarch K’Len, Secretary of K’Long Party Committee.

Village patriarch A Blong is a role model in the movement to develop the local economy and encourage local people to get rid of backward customs, preserve traditional cultural features, and protect Vietnam’s borders.

(VOVWORLD) - War veteran Tang Van Binh of Phieng Luong commune is a role model for agricultural production in the northern province of Son La. Binh managed to escape poverty using a model combining orchard planting and afforestation.

(VOVWORLD) - Pastor Dieu Phi of the Mnong ethnic group is a role model in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong. He was the only ethnic representative from Dak Nong to attend the recent National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

(VOVWORLD) - Mai Chau Phuong, a chemistry teacher in Vietnam’s central region, has lit a passion for science in many students. She is behind the success of many of her students at international competitions.

(VOVWORLD) - Thien An Orphanage in Pleiku city in the Central Highlands was established by nun Nguyen Thi Kim Chi in 2010. Thien An is now home to more than one hundred disadvantaged children, orphans, and single mothers.

(VOVWORLD) - Le Thanh Liem, a teacher from the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang has developed his own teaching aids to inspire his students. Liem has received Thailand’s Princess Maha Chakri Award for his contributions to education.

(VOVWORLD) - A farmer named Lam Ngoc Nham, who lives in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, has spent more than 20 years researching and growing peppercorns. Nham has established a Bau May peppercorn trademark which is now available in markets worldwide.
