(VOVworld) – During a recent voyage to Truong Sa also called the Spratly Archipelago, a VoV reporter was lucky to meet up with Lieutenant-colonel Le Van Tan, former commander of Truong Sa Lon from 1978 to 1987. He had stayed on the island for 10 years and was the first person to grow Barringtonia asiatica there. Today, we’ll tell you about this man.

(VOVworld) - Living and working in Vietnam for eleven years, Ando Katsuhiro, an expert on culture and tourism development, has grown to love this country. Over the years, he has researched Vietnam’s ancient architecture and helped rural people develop community tourism. He says he wants cultural heritage and the beauty of Vietnamese villages to become attractive to both domestic and foreign visitors.

(VOVworld) – Venerable Thich Giac Nghia is one of the first six Buddhist monks in Khanh Hoa who volunteered to relocate to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands to manage temples there. He said the decision was made because of the six monks’ love for parts of the national territorial sovereignty. VOV reporter Vinh Phong has a story about this Buddhist monk.

The Hanoi Theater Art Troupe have come to Truong Sa, bringing songs filled with the affection of Hanoi’s citizens to raise the morale of soldiers stationed here. (VOVworld) - Song Tu Tay island is one of 3 communes and townships of Truong Sa island district. This was also the first island of Truong Sa archipelago to be liberated by Liberation soldiers on April 14th in Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975. On the occasion of 37th anniversary of Liberation of the South and National Reunification, our reporter Mai Lan met with warrant officer Le Xuan Phat who was the first one to hoist the flag on Song Tu Tay island.
