Da Nang serves as the eastern gateway of the East-West Economic Corridor and a vital link for transit and goods distribution, connecting the sub-region's continental economic sectors with seaport systems and international markets. Rather than developing logistics through isolated, individual projects, Da Nang is taking a step-by-step approach to build an integrated system and ecosystem.
Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, said the goal is not only to bring goods here but to enable goods from the city and the central-central highlands region to travel faster, further, and more effectively to regional and global markets.
"The city aims to transform from a logistics hub of the central region into a connection point in the Indian Ocean and Pacific supply chain network, effectively linking the markets of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Europe," Binh added.
Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, pledged support for Da Nang’s logistics development. “The Ministry of Industry and Trade is committed to continuing its partnership with Da Nang City, central ministries and agencies, the business community, and international partners to refine policies, facilitate trade, develop logistics infrastructure, strengthen international cooperation, and build a modern, smart, and sustainable ecosystem,” said Hai.
