(VOVWORLD) - “War Letters”, an outstanding book by Colonel Dang Vuong Hung, was honored during the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27. The book was written to demonstrate the Vietnamese people’s aspiration for peace and teach the younger generation about patriotism.

(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi-based Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) opened in June this year. The nonprofit center, fully funded by Vingroup, is designed to help develop Vietnam’s contemporary art by gathering in artists and organizations. What makes VCCA unique is that this is an underground display space but still overwhelmed with natural light.

(VOVWORLD) - In the previous Culture segment, VOV spotlighted Sol Art - a children’s ensemble that has won fame for Vietnamese’ choral art on the international arena. The development of chorus in Vietnam is attributed to Sol Art centre and Vinschool primary school, which are teaching choral music to children.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese ensemble Sol Art won their third top prize at the 2017 International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition in Germany. The honor demonstrates that Vietnam’s choral music has caught up with global development.

(VOVWORLD) - Concerns about losing Thai ethnic culture have motivated Ca Van Chung, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Center in Son La province, to apply new technology in the preservation work. The use of computers in teaching the Thai ethnic language, designing agricultural production schedules, and the digitization of Thai cultural products have so far proven effective.

(VOVWORLD) - The musical instruments of Vietnam’s ethnic minority groups are on the verge of disappearing. Most of the artisans who make them are old. But some of them are working hard to teach younger generations to make and play the instruments.

(VOVWORLD) - Bai choi is a type of folk art and folk game popular in Central Vietnam, particularly in Quang Nam province. Bai choi has played an important role in Hoi An residents’ spiritual life for centuries.

(VOVWORLD) - In June, 1957, President Ho Chi Minh returned to his home village in NgheAn province for the first time, following 5 decades of devotion to Vietnam’s salvation. Uncle Ho, in his worn-out khaki clothes and rubber sandals, waved and smiled at local people who were waiting for him at home. A gala night was held recently by Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Nghe An province to remember his homecoming visit 60 years ago.

(VOVWORLD) - The central province of Quang Nam, with beautiful beaches and the unique culture of its residents, creates a strong potential for sea tourism development. Quang Nam is coordinating with other localities to promote culture and beach tours. This is the theme of an exhibition called “Cultural Heritage of Vietnam’s Sea and Islands” as part of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival.

(VOVWORLD) - The sixth Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017 intends to promote local traditional culture to international friends. The event is hosted by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO.
