Fresh flowers are indispensable during Valentine season. As the holiday is close to the Lunar New Year, demand for flowers has surged, pushing prices slightly higher than usual. However, many shop owners say prices have risen only 4% to 6%. Florists have also introduced creative designs and additional services, offering color palettes tailored to different love stories.

Bui Thi Thu Hoai, owner of Thao Nguyen Flower Shop, said: “Red roses and red tulips continue to be the top choices. Valentine’s is all about red. There are also add-ons such as teddy bears and floral teddy bear arrangements. Floral bears are difficult to make, but are much sought after. We’ve also received many special orders, including bouquets of 99 or even 1,000 roses.”

Meanwhile, chocolate and bakery shops are focusing on distinctive designs ranging from premium to affordable options. Many stores are launching promotions and creating unique gift concepts to offer couples memorable surprises.

Le Hong Trang, owner of La Rosette Macaron bakery, said: “Macarons, originating from France, are often regarded as ‘the cake of love’ because of their sweetness and romantic association. This year, we created heart-shaped macaron bouquets in vibrant colors that are beautiful and edible. We also receive custom orders, such as writing personal messages or decorating cakes with playful characters.”

The Valentine’s gift market offers a wide variety of products and designs. Customers can order T-shirts printed with their photos, while everyday items such as scarves, hats, and household goods are creatively packaged as attractive gifts. Perfume, essential oils, and scented candles are also popular choices, with many new designs introduced.

Duong Linh Chi, founder of Meraki candles, said: “We have a pink candle line with scents tailored to different preferences. Different fragrances help couples connect in unique ways. We have also prepared gift sets in round, square, and rectangular boxes containing flowers and charming small items, which have sold well this season.”

Each gift conveys heartfelt messages between couples while also reflecting the creativity of shop owners who strive to stimulate demand and deliver diverse and meaningful experiences to customers.
