(VOVWORLD) - Homeland Spring 2026 celebrations have been held in the Netherlands and India, bringing the warmth of Tet to overseas Vietnamese communities.
The Embassy of Vietnam in the Netherlands recently organized the event, drawing about 450 Vietnamese residents, students, and workers, along with representatives of Dutch agencies, organizations, and local friends.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam highlighted the sacred significance of Tet, noting that the Lunar New Year is a time for Vietnamese people everywhere to turn toward their roots, honor their ancestors, and share hopes for prosperity for both their homeland and families.
Ambassador Nam also noted that the Netherlands has remained Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the EU for two consecutive years, with bilateral trade reaching 14.3 billion USD. The Netherlands is also the biggest EU investor in Vietnam.
Last Saturday, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai in India’s western state of Maharashtra, hosted the “Vietnamese Tet – Homeland Spring 2026” celebration.
The venue was decorated with traditional symbols of Vietnamese spring, including the national flag, apricot and peach blossoms, red parallel sentences, and the five-fruit tray. Participants were deeply moved as they enjoyed the familiar flavors of traditional Tet dishes, rekindling memories of home.
