(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Embassy in Austria hosted the “Homeland Spring 2026” celebration in Vienna, under the theme “Returning to Our Roots – United in Pride – Sharing Aspirations”.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang stressed that the six-million-strong Vietnamese community across more than 130 countries and territories, including Austria, is an inseparable part of the nation and an important intellectual resource for Vietnam’s development.
He noted that overseas Vietnamese in Austria always look towards the homeland with pride in the country’s major achievements over nearly 40 years of renewal, and expressed confidence that with its renewed strength and position, Vietnam is well prepared to move forward into a new era.

The program received strong support and active participation from Vietnamese associations and overseas Vietnamese in Austria.
Representing the Vietnamese community liaison committee, Dinh Thi Kim Dung said the event was a great success, drawing large crowds eager to celebrate Lunar New Year together, a time for reunion, meeting one another and preserving the Vietnamese language and cultural traditions.

The celebration also spread Vietnam’s cultural values through special artistic performances and traditional dishes such as spring rolls, banh chung or traditional square sticky rice cake, pork rolls and sticky rice.
