The opera was first performed in 2023 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam relations (September 21).
At the press conference, cast members discussed their roles in the production. Actress Kurisu Oto and pianist Motohashi Tomoki performed a song of the upcoming musical.
Director and producer Oyama Daisuke said, “Around 400 years ago, Vietnam's royal court music made its way to Japan. The tale of "Princess Anio" is highly symbolic for Vietnam, Japan, and the world. Its musical adaptation will inherit and embody our traditional friendship and carry it forward to the next 100, 200 years, and beyond."
