Mr. Chinh, who is head of the steering committee for key national railway projects, made the request at the committee’s fourth meeting in Hanoi, attended online by 18 provinces and cities involved in the railway projects.

At the meeting, he also requested a review of the site clearance work for the North- South high-speed railway in localities as well as proposal of other railway tasks and solutions in the remaining months of this year and beyond.

"Preparations need to be accelerated so that the first phase of construction of the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway project can start on December 19. Focus should be on the site clearance review for the North–South high-speed railway. Once the site clearance is carried out in line with the National Assembly’s Resolution, state and private investors can start implementing the project," said PM Chinh.
