Prime Minister receives Solomon Islands Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on Vietnam and the Solomon Islands to strengthen cooperation in trade, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure, encouraging businesses to expand investment in areas of mutual strength such as agriculture, marine cooperation, fisheries, and renewable energy.

At a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Solomon Islands Peter Shanel Agovaka in Hanoi on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said Vietnam will send a delegation to explore cooperation opportunities, particularly in establishing fishing and processing facilities in the Solomon Islands.
He also proposed the signing of an agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, and the promotion of flight routes between Vietnam and the island nations of the South Pacific.
Minister Agovaka asked Vietnam to assist the Solomon Islands in human resource development, fisheries techniques, and agriculture; expressed interest in importing rice and raw materials from Vietnam; and affirmed that Solomon authorities will facilitate Vietnamese investments in promising sectors.
