South Korea, China reaffirm ties amid political uncertainties
(VOVWORLD) - The top diplomats of South Korea and China have reaffirmed efforts to advance bilateral ties amid political uncertainties, Seoul's foreign ministry said.
According to Yonhap news agency, during a 30-minute phone talk on Tuesday with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae Yul said South Korea’s stance on improving strategic cooperative partnership with China remains unchanged under acting President Han Duck-soo.
Mr. Cho urged for stronger bilateral cooperation in multiple areas as South Korea prepares to host the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week in Gyeongju.
In response, Mr. Wang noted that improving bilateral relationship in a healthy and stable manner is in line with their mutual national interests.
He called for close cooperation and communication to further boost bilateral ties and reaffirmed Beijing's support for Seoul's hosting of next year's APEC summit.
