During the meeting, Mr. Evgeny Grigoriev conveyed New Year greetings from St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov to Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi and, through him, to the people of Vietnam.
Both sides agreed that the Vietnam–Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is developing dynamically, particularly following key orientations set forth at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and high-level telephone talks between leaders of the two countries in early 2026.
Local-level cooperation continues to play an important role in overall bilateral relations. In this context, ties between St. Petersburg and Ho Chi Minh City are considered a bright spot, with numerous effective cultural and economic exchanges underway. The maintenance and promotion of the Ho Chi Minh Monument in St. Petersburg is a lasting symbol of friendship between the two cities. The two sides also discussed prospects for enhancing economic cooperation, encouraging business delegations to explore market opportunities and expand trade connectivity in the coming period.
