Thousands work through Tet holiday on APEC Phu Quoc mega-construction site

(VOVWORLD) -During the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday next week, thousands of workers will keep working overtime on APEC projects in the Phu Quoc Special Zone, Kien Giang province, to ensure the progress of key projects serving APEC 2027.

The Phu Quoc international airport expansion project, one of the key national projects, requires a tight deadline of December 31, 2026, to achieve a construction milestone in the aviation sector. So, during the Tet holiday, 1,450 workers, 150 technical staff, and personnel from contractors, supervisory consultants, and the project management board will stay in the construction site.

For the APEC convention and exhibition center and multipurpose performance hall project, construction will be going on and about 1,000 people will be working there. During the Lunar New Year holiday, work is focusing primarily on the structural framework and steel structure will be erected in the subsequent phase
