Vietnam desires to boost Comprehensive Partnership with Canada
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam highly values and wishes to boost the Comprehensive Partnership with Canada, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said, emphasizing Canada's proactive and positive foreign policy and the shared strategic interests of the two countries as a basis for expanding bilateral cooperation and aiming to soon elevate relations to a new level.

Foreign Minister Trung on Thursday received visiting Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu who congratulated the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and expressed confidence that Vietnam will succeed in the new era of development.
The two Ministers agreed on measures to promote bilateral Comprehensive Partnership, pledging to ramp up cooperation in trade and investment, security and defense, official development assistance, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
They stressed the need to expand cooperation in new potential areas such as supply chains, AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, clean energy transition and renewable energy development, green agriculture development, environmental protection, and climate change.
Both sides also agreed to coordinate and support each other in Vietnam's preparations to host APEC Year 2027 and to strengthen Canada's relationship with ASEAN.
