The event, which is part of a series of activities promoting Vietnamese exports to the German market, was jointly organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit), and the Selgros wholesale supermarket chain.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Dac Thanh said that “Vietnamese Goods Day” brings Vietnam’s tropical fruits closer to German consumers and creates a space for Vietnamese businesses to directly approach German importers.

Vinafruit Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh said that Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export turnover reached 8.6 billion USD in 2025, up nearly 20% from 2024. Vietnam's exports to Germany exceeded 60.17 million USD, up nearly 40% year-on-year.

Mario Berger, Managing Director of Selgros Lichtenberg, said the supermarket currently sells many Vietnamese products, mainly seafood, dried foods, and spices. Signature products are Saigon Baigur Dry Gin and fresh fruits including dragon fruit and passion fruit. Selgros Lichtenberg is planning to import Vietnam’s ST25 rice and a number of other agricultural products.
