(VOVworld) - The contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” has closed. On the June 30 deadline, we received from John Rutledge of China; Muhammad Ibrar, Abiha Fatima, and Hamad Kiani of Pakistan; Saroj Bharti, Soumya Bhattacharjee, Ratan Kumar Paul, Aslam Khan, Jayanta Chakrabarty, Bidhan Chandra Sanyal, and Adita Prithika of India; Grant Skinner of the UK; and Iyed Ben Brahim of Tunisia.

B: The main educational goals in Vietnam are improving people’s general knowledge, training quality human resources and fostering and nurturing talent. With one of the highest GDP growth rates in Asia, Vietnam is currently trying to overhaul its education system to maintain its rapid economic growth.

A: First on our show today, we’d like to thank you all for participating in VOV’s Contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” which closed on Tuesday. Last week, we received a large number of impressive entries.

(VOVworld) - The deadline for VOV’s contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” is drawing near. The number of entries received by our office in recent days has been higher than in the past weeks.

B: VOV’s contest, “What do you know about Vietnam?” has received a great number of entries from listeners around the world. Listener Ogasawara from Japan’s Tochigi province has special feelings while joining in the contest.

(VOVworld) - This week we’ve got several letters from Japanese listeners. Yukihiro Yuasa in Miyagi prefecture, Japan, reported listening to VOV on May 23 on the frequency of 12020 khz and rated SINPO at 45444. Yuasa said he also listens to the Japanese broadcast of VOV which is beamed to Japan on the same direction as the English broadcast.

This week, we received a number of letters from Ulmar Qvick in Sweden. In emails to VOV this week, he expressed his great joy of listening to our broadcasts on May 18th, 19th, 21st and 28th. He wrote: “I find that I learn something about life in Vietnam and matters related to your part of the world by my listening. It’s also interesting to note the variations in reception day by day and find out the best time and frequencies”.

(VOVworld) - VOV has continued to receive entries from listeners worldwide to our contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” The entries show great effort and careful preparation. Besides precise information which shows their deep understanding of Vietnam, some listeners have attached illustrative pictures to make their entry stand out.

A: This week we received a postal entry to VOV’s contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” from SB Sharma of India. It is beautifully illustrated with photos that support his answers to our questions.

(VOVworld) - Pradip Chandra Kundu told us that in Tripura, India, they have been experiencing rain and thunderstorms almost every evening these days. The internet connection suffers a lot from the weather. Pradip had no comments about the weather in Vietnam. He just knew about Nepal and the painful situation there. His place is not far from Nepal and the quake hit Tripura also, but they were luckier.
