The 11-day session is divided into two phases: phase 1 from April 6 to 12 and phase 2 from April 20 to 23 with April 24 and 25 as contingency days.

During this session, the National Assembly will decide on organizational structure and personnel matters; eight draft laws and one normative resolution; five groups of issues related to socio-economics, finance, budget, supervision, among others; and nine groups of issues for which agencies have submitted reports for National Assembly deputies to review.

Prior to the opening, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and National Assembly deputies laid wreaths and paid respects to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum. Representatives of the National Assembly delegations also laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs.
