Speaking at the opening ceremony on Saturday, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Deputy Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, said the festival offers an opportunity for people to reconnect with national cultural roots, nurture compassion, and enrich their spiritual lives.

According to Ms. Thi, by promoting the heritage values of the site, the festival has been organized on an increasingly larger and more professional scale, featuring a diverse range of activities that blend solemn rituals with vibrant festivities.

“Through this event, we meet people’s religious and spiritual needs while promoting the image of Da Nang as a friendly, compassionate, and civilized city to both domestic and international visitors,” she said.

Running through Tuesday, the festival aims to spread the profound humanistic values of Buddhism while honoring the compassion and wisdom of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. This year’s program features a rich lineup of cultural, artistic, sporting, and religious activities, deeply rooted in cultural identity and spiritual life.

A key highlight is the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva worship ceremony, marking the Bodhisattva’s birthday, which will take place on Monday morning, the 19th day of the second lunar month.

As the most significant ritual of the festival, it is expected to draw tens of thousands of participants praying for national peace, development, and the prosperity and happiness of the people.
