The 140-point document, adopted at the 18th BRICS Summit held in India on Saturday and Sunday, also underscores the need to build a united, practical, and results-oriented BRICS capable of responding to emerging international economic and political challenges.

Themed “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, the Summit discussed global and regional developments and ways to strengthen multilateralism and reform the global governance system.

Other priorities included promoting trade, investment and finance; ensuring energy and food security; advancing science, technology and innovation; and deepening cooperation among Global South countries.
