This was the 120th aid shipment under the “Zad Al-Izza: From Egypt to Gaza” initiative launched in late July 2025.

Egypt has played a leading role in humanitarian assistance to Gaza over more than two years of conflict, coordinating the delivery of over 800,000 tons of aid or around 70 percent of total humanitarian assistance to the territory.

Cairo is also actively promoting the implementation of Phase Two of the Gaza peace agreement and mediating Palestinian national reconciliation talks. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has been invited by US President Donald Trump to join the Board of Peace for Gaza, a US-initiated mechanism to oversee post-conflict governance in Gaza.
