According to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, Tehran has rejected a 48-hour ceasefire proposal put forward by Washington. This proposal was conveyed through a “friendly” third country on Thursday. Rather than issuing an official response, Iran demonstrated its stance by continuing military operations.
Fars reported that the US is stepping up diplomatic efforts to broker a ceasefire, particularly after Iran attacked a US military weapons depot on Bubiyan Island in Kuwait. Some analysts suggest the proposal came amid a rapidly escalating crisis, with the US facing serious problems due to “miscalculation” of Iran’s military capabilities.
Meanwhile, Iranian diplomatic sources said Tehran will notify "friendly" countries, including Russia, if it decides to resume negotiations with the US.
