The proposal comes as the US continues military operations against Iran and faces domestic economic pressures, particularly rising energy prices. Defense spending would increase substantially from approximately 1 trillion USD in 2026, including a 5–7% pay raise for deployed troops.

The budget also includes major investments such as the “Golden Dome” missile defense system, strengthening supply chains for critical minerals, and 65.8 billion USD for building 34 new naval vessels.

It also outlines plans to develop new classes of warships and submarines, reflecting the administration’s long-term priority of expanding naval power.

Meanwhile, the White House proposes deep cuts to civilian spending, though major mandatory programs such as Social Security and Medicare are not addressed.
