Addressing the forum, President Min Aung Hlaing said Myanmar welcomes and calls for Vietnamese cooperation in developing digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, public services, information technology, digital payment systems and an innovation-friendly business environment. He also invited Vietnamese investors to participate in the production of technology equipment in Myanmar’s high-tech zones.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang said Vietnam and Myanmar should further strengthen connectivity and complementarity between their economies, while creating a stable and transparent legal framework and a favorable business environment.
He called for greater sharing of experience to improve the investment and business climate and more effective use of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation and the Sub-committee on Trade.
The Deputy Prime Minister called on businesses of both countries to “work together to drive growth in both economies and ensure that people in both countries benefit from the fruits of cooperation and development.”
At the forum, businesses from Vietnam and Myanmar signed and exchanged memoranda of understanding on cooperation in various fields.
